Lee Woo Sing College shines in the “Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme (WARS) Website Stream for 2022-2023, once again receiving the “Triple Gold Award” and continuing to be the only college of the Chinese University of Hong Kong to achieve this honor. The College previously received the Gold Award in 2016 and 2018 – 2019, and was the first college of the CUHK to receive the “Triple Gold” in 2020-2021. The award presentation ceremony was held on April 24, 2023 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Dr. LI Nai-hei Harry, Chairman of the Committee of Overseers, and Professor YAM Yeung, Associate Master of the College, attended the ceremony to receive the award on behalf of the College.

The “Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme” is organised by Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited, with the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer as the co-organiser, and the Equal Opportunities Commission as the independent advisor. The Scheme aims to recognise organisations from all sectors that design accessible web pages and mobile applications. Accessible websites enable everyone, regardless of one’s physical condition, to browse website information and use online services more easily, promoting a harmonious and inclusive society.

Lee Woo Sing College has been participating in the “Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme” since 2016. The “Triple Gold Award” recognises websites that have achieved the “Gold Award” level for three consecutive years or more. To attain “Website Stream – Gold Award Level”, a website need to meet up to 27 professional evaluation criteria, including ease of operation, ideal website content layout, detailed titles and data interpretation, appropriate graphic color contrast, among others, all of which must be tested through both system and physical operations. In November 2020, the College’s website underwent a comprehensive system update, featuring a clear and minimalist website design. The website supports both mobile and tablet devices to cater to the habits of modern Internet users and meet the needs of diverse individuals.
