[2020-01-06] Special Announcement Regarding Suspected New Infectious Diseases Cases

A College student expressed feeling unwell this evening (6 Jan 2020). As the student visited Wuhan in mid-December last year, for safety reasons, the student and the roommate of the student were sent to public hospital by ambulance for medical investigation. The two students were confirmed by doctor of having neither fever nor pneumonia symptoms, and were discharged at night time. One of the students was diagnosed with influenza.

In accordance with the guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection, the College cleaned the hostel floor and common areas with bleach to protect the health of students. Surgical masks and alcohol hand rubs are provided at College counter on G/F for residents.

If students feeling unwell or have concerns, they may consult a doctor at UHS.
