Let's go Green!

Exciting Green Events Organized

Green WS Day

Free Give, Free Gift

The programme “Free Give, Free Gift” is a second-hand items exchange programme hold by the Green Ambassadors .College students and staff members are invited to give out their unwanted items and let them become useful again for other people. The Ambassadors set up a booth at the Leung Fung Yee Lobby to collect items regularly. Students and staff are welcome to take and reuse the second-hand items for free. A similar online exchange platform is also launched via the WS Green Facebook fan page.

Visits & Workshops

The Green Life Ambassadors have organized many activities, such as a guided tour at the Zero Carbon Building, planting-fun booth at the 50th Anniversary Kick-off Ceremony, Earth Day Movie Night and a series of recycling activities for the campus. The ambassadors are helping the College to recycle ink cartridges, rechargeable batteries, reusable plastic/paper shopping bags, and red packet envelopes (during Chinese New Year) at the campus. The envelopes will be reused in the next year for making traditional paper-crafts to decorate the campus.

The Ambassadors are also planting and harvesting local vegetables for the students at the hostel. With our roof top garden setting up, our students can have more chance to enjoy the planting experience there. Students are free to join the organic farming classes with a low price.

The ambassadors have also host two fun booths on behalf of the College and the CU Tree Project on the Alumni Homecoming Day (2/12). The booths will educate visitors the elements of planting and the variety of birds in CUHK.

Other Programmes

Our collage also cooperate with different association for promoting green. For example, in 2013, our collage cooperate with the Hong Kong Green Youth Ambassador for organizing a green camp called "Green Thinker". The camp is held in our collage campus and with positive feedback.
