Honorary Music Director of WS Choir
Ms. Ruth S.K. Chung
"Harmony" is one of the important driving directions of Lee Woo Sing College, and “choral singing” is perhaps the most suitable way to embody such a mission. When students of Lee Woo Sing College come together and sing in harmony, they are physically closer, their hearts are drawn together, and their minds are united toward a common goal, which is why the Woo Sing (i.e. harmony) Choir is established. It is the honor of Lee Woo Sing College to have Ms. CHUNG Siu King to be the Honorary Music Director of the Woo Sing Choir, leading the College Choir to be a distinctive College signature.
Chung graduated summa cum laude from the University of Houston, Texas (B.A. major in Music, minor in Anthropology). She was awarded the member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, USA, due to her excellent academic achievement. She studied choral conducting under Prof. Theodore Davidovich, Prof. Charles Hausmann, and Dr. John Winzenburg; piano under Prof. Brownlee and Mrs. Galina Gertsenzon. She had also studied singing under Ms. Lau Kwok Hing and Ms. Barbara Chen (Principal of Hong Kong School of Sacred Music). Chung also received with Distinction her Master of Arts in Music, along with the “Scholastic Award” honor from Hong Kong Baptist University. Chung previously served as Music Director at Chinese Baptist Church, Houston USA, the Hong Kong Girl Guides Association, and various local Christian churches.
